"State Farm used to be my go to insurance agency. Over the past two years their prices have gone lunar to higher and higher rates while service has gotten less trustworthy, requiring many calls to babysit and followup any changes in coverage. While I used to know my agents and have a personal connection, this no longer feels important to this company. After finding much better coverage for less than half what state farm was charging, I left and honestly never plan to return."

"UPDATED to 3 stars (12/02/2022): After posting my review Rob personally sent me a detailed email. His email is a superb example of how to turn a detractor into an advocate. He followed that up with asking for a call to discuss my experience so he could better implement processes to prevent my experience from happening again. He never asked me to change this review, change from my current agency or make excuses for my experience. He listened, understood the key points, and appears to have a plan to correct it. For this reason, I feel he deserved a better review. Every business can have instances where they let down a customer. While that was unfortunately my experience, I don't believe it will be everyone's experience. Original 1 star (11/30/2022): Incompetent, unreliable and negligent. These are three words to describe my 3 months with this agency. This was the worst agent I have ever had in my 20 years with State Farm. I moved from Florida to Indiana and needed to transfer my policy to an agent in this state. I've done these requests 4 other times in my State Farm life with ZERO issues. They were incapable of doing that simple task. This agency failed to properly transfer the policy and my autopay (incompetent). This resulted in a cancelled policy because they did not follow up with me or State Farm (negligent). I only found out because I noticed a payment had not been deducted and I (and State Farm) left messages with the receptionist/agency, but they never returned my calls (unreliable). I had to appear at their office in order to get a response. They informed me that it was fixed, and they collected a monthly payment that day. The next month my payment was nearly 3x what I was quoted originally. When I asked about the difference, they told me to ignore it that it was just some glitch. Given my experience, I followed up a week or so later to find out it was an error they made while issuing the policy (negligent). After that I was informed it was all fixed. The following month my bill was again higher than quoted (unreliable). I called to inquire, I left a message with the receptionist again, and was informed she would speak with billing and call me back. After two days I never received a call (unreliable). I transferred to a competent agency later in the week. In 5 mins, the agent was able to explain that the prior agency failed to collect that initial payment (incompetent); did not properly transfer the payment plan which resulted in a missed payment (incompetent); they should have told me that I need to make a double payment so it could be resolved thus preventing the original cancellation and subsequent higher bills (negligent and unreliable); and the reason for the higher payment was that State Farm decided to divide the additional payment over 3 payments to catch up. A competent agent was able to explain this on the fly in 5 mins, something that Rob Barber's agency couldn't do in 3 months. Horrendous experience. Again, the theme with this agency is incompetency, unreliability and negligence. They are not proactive OR reactive, AT LEAST PICK ONE! I would not recommend this agent to anyone."

"Have had nothing but great service from these guys. All I have to do is call them and they take care of it. When I switched from Travelers I received better coverage, lower deductibles, all at a significantly lower price. People said they couldn’t do it but they did. Your insurance is only as good as your agent and Rob is top notch."
